WHERE: Kanapaha Botanical Gardens
22 local landscape artists will be painting live at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. The 3 day event is in conjunction with 11th Worldwide Artist Paint Out. You can attend the opening reception on Thursday (13th) evening; then have a chance to purchase their work at a reception planned for the following Thursday Sept. 19 in the Summer House Gallery. Regular admission price for non-members and members are admitted free of charge.
WHAT: Florida Museum of Natural History's Surfing Celebration WHERE: Florida Museum of Natural History on Hull Road Surf’s up at The Florida Museum! Hang ten on the Robo-surfer surfing simulator on Saturday (14th) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and celebrate Florida’s famed coastal waters with the exhibit Surfing Florida. Robo-surfer is free but admission to the “Surfing Florida” and “Surf Science” exhibits are: $4 for adults $3.50 for Florida residents and seniors $3 for ages 3-17 and free to UF students with a Gator 1 card.
The exhibit features photographs and interpretive graphics on the state’s surfing history famous film clips and oral histories from well-known Florida surfers along with surf memorabilia and specimens to explore the question "What’s under the surf?”.
WHAT: School of Art + Art History 48th Annual Studio Faculty Exhibition WHERE: University Gallery - located at the intersection of SW 13th Street and SW 4th Avenue
The exhibition includes art from UF faculty members who work in an impressive range of media including drawing painting photography printmaking sculpture ceramics electronic media installation and video. You can attend Tue Wed & Fri during 10-5; Thu 10-7 & Sat 12-4
