It's been a busy week for us social media nerds. This morning we learned that blogging can actually pay off. Not a new concept by any means...though if you speak to my parents that's a different matter entirely. They are still stuck on thinking a blog is a portal for Internet catastrophes and illegal predators.
However I got this email this morning and it seems the days of Integration are moving along (with or without the thumbs up from my folks). We've all been on Amazon at some point in time right and while you may not keep a blog you at least know what it is or have seen one correct? Amazon is offering a form of credit for including/linking them in your blog review...meaning potential CASH in your pocket. I hope you got the email since I won't post all the fine print but it seems to be a "Hey why not do it anyway?" situation.
We headed to our Orlando properties on Wednesday where the creative juices hit us like a tsunami. Check out our newest CMC Spotlight on Moises Carrasquillo. He works at Hunter's Ridge in Winter Park and has made a name for himself in the community with the boxing academy he runs just blocks from the property. Moises has been covered by local news affiliates in Orlando so naturally we wanted a piece of the action as well you can check out the video here.
In keeping with pop culture and style our neighbor Dahlia (a local boutique in Thornebrook Plaza) hosted a Sex and the City themed shopping & cocktails night on Thursday. We were unable to attend but found these great photos online from The Gainesville Style. They are taken by Andrew Avila we think one the best up-and-coming young photographers in town.
Patti our friend at The Gainesville Sun dropped off a few copies of the newest June/July 2010 issue of Gainesville Magazine and look who's in print! Our very own CMC Marketing Coordinator Melanie. Hey who knows maybe CMC will make the cover one day!
We've been promising a review of The Warehouse - downtown Gainesville's newest restaurant - for a few days now. And we've been there...twice...but the food is so yummy we keep forgetting to take pictures. We are headed back again this weekend so fingers crossed that will be up next week.
Until then social teammates - give us the scoop on anything new and happening in town!
