People don't know this about me but I'm in the ice cream making business and by business I mean I make batches of creative ice cream flavors for myself and friends like my last batch of Blueberry Lemon Instagrammed.
If you're a lover of the sweet treat then you know July is a HUGE month for any ice cream aficionado with two days of recognition: National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day on July 1st and National Ice Cream Day on July 17th.
It's fitting that Sweet Dreams Homemade Ice Cream the most innovative ice creamery in Gainesville (in my opinion) hosted its annual Wild Flavors Day celebration with a smorgasbord of creative pairings and samples. 9 hours of glorious cold creations that made you question the meaning of life. OK so maybe not that serious - but a good time nonetheless.
Until I land my job at Bi-Rite Creamery in San Francisco I will keep experimenting at home and taste testing at Sweet Dreams in Gainesville.
And finally my selections: Watermelon Basil Sorbet Avocado Pistachio Southern Kickin' Butter Pecan (with crunchy Cinnamon bits) and Crunchy Curried Peanut Butter. YUM! Did you attend? What did you order?
