It's a small place located on University Avenue just minutes away from the University of Florida campus - Bistro 1245 - the convenient lunch spot that features sophisticated dishes; but still meets a college student’s budget.
Lunch and dinner items range from about $7 to $15 - each unique in flavor and carefully prepared to order.
For lunch I recommend the Grilled Three Cheese sandwich paired with Butternut Squash Soup. This “adult grilled cheese†is loaded with provolone smoked gouda and gruyere cheeses topped with tomato slices and held together with two thick pieces of fresh farm bread. The soup offers a smooth and buttery accompaniment to the sandwich. Plus it’s a steal at only $6.95.
Bistro 1245 offers a unique dining experience any day of the week whether you want to grab a quick lunch or enjoy a delicious dinner with a glass of wine.
Monday through Saturday Bistro 1245 hosts wine tastings from 4p.m.to 8p.m. where you choose from a selection of bottles displayed on wine racks around the room. The tasting includes three half glasses for $6.95.
